mixed lan (client win + linux) qustion
 
hi all,
i've a lan win win2k clients accessing a samba pdc without problems.
now i want to add som mdk9.2 pc in my lan and i want to authenticate them with the pdc.

do i have to use samba authentication for logging to the pdc with linux client ?

i can't understand the right way

You could use the smbclient to access the samba file on the samba server. Or you could try another service like NFS? I would just use ssh unless you need to mount filesystems.

i want to use gnome with linux client,
and i want to authenticate to the samba server and mount that home dir
my problem is how to authenticate the linux server with the mdk9.2 box

May export/mount the same home dirs as NFS shares from linux to linux;
may also mount type smb option password server:/share samba to linux;
not sure of exact command line or additions needed to automount or fstab.
