Ok, first try with sasl authentication went fine. I'm using Fedora Core 1 and this is what I did:
Added the following to /etc/postfix/main.cf
Code:
smtpd_sasl_local_domain = socklabs.com burningwind.com
smtpd_sasl_auth_enable = yes
smtpd_sasl_security_options = noanonymous
broken_sasl_auth_clients = yes
permit_sasl_authenticated = yes
smtpd_recipient_restrictions = permit_mynetworks permit_sasl_authenticated reject_unauth_destination
edited the following file: /usr/lib/sasl2/smtpd.conf
Code:
pwcheck_method: sasldb
Ran the following commands
Code:
/usr/sbin/saslpasswd2 -c -u socklabs.com nick
/usr/sbin/sasldblistusers2
Then had to modify /etc/sasldb2 to be viewable by the postfix/vmail user account
Done.
Hope this helps everyone.
