Question Mirror FTP to HTTP on Debian ?

Hi,

I have had a bit of a dilemma that i hope you guys will be able to help me out with.

I currently have a Debian machine and a FTP server (not on the same machine), i would like to somehow connect that ftp server to my Debian machine and make it act like HTTP.

For example, i would like to have folder "stuff" on ftp that would always be mirrored to a path on my Debian machine's webserver, like, http://192.168.1.2/stuff/

Any idea how i would be able to do that ?

Please take me easy if you give me some advice on this, i am fairly noob with linux.

You could share the FTP root over NFS and use some lightweight HTTP server as webfs to serve it. Why do you want it serve from another machine? I'd just run webfs in the same machine and same root as the FTP.

I have a free ftp server from somewhere else including one on my machine.

I have no idea what NFS is.

Currently i am running lighttpd for my webserver.

What shall i do exactly ?
