Mimic a Fluke Netork device

Over at http://www.flukenetworks.com

There are some top network discovery/analysis devices. Now they run linux under the hood so I got to thinking

What are the good network discovery/analysis that could make my PC work like one of these £4k-£6k

A live CD would be great

Thanks

There are also a lot of features on the higher-end Fluke devices you're probably never going to use unless you're doing some serious cabling installs or troubleshooting. Rather than wanting say "I've got a £6k Fluke device running off my laptop for nothing" maybe look at what functions + tools you need. There are some live CD's which contain network management tools, depending on what you're actually wanting to run.
