Question Messages from Linux to Windows

Hi!
I would like to find out if it is possible to send messages from linux( say RH *.*) to windows workstations. The way you send a message from windows to windows via net send IP "message".

Thanks a lot!

you can also use samba alone to send and receive messages
to send a message use the following command
smbclient -M <username whome you want to send> -U <your name> -W <workgroup>

I just get a 'session request failed' message.. i heard m$ fixed the ability of linux to send messages in it's service pack, is this true?

if it is, is there another way? and i can't use linpopup, as this is on a server and i just want to talk to it through a perl script
