Mepis 8 WiFi Speed issue

Howdy all,

Been having some issues with Mepis 8 and an unbranded PCI WiFi card.
Originally, I could only connect at 1Mbps to the network with a really high latency (300+ ms).
The card is using the RT2500 driver in the kernel.

After much messing about trying different drivers, I reinstalled to go back to square 1, and used the command:
Code:
iwconfig wlan0 rate 11M
Then I disconnected and reconnected the wireless connection.
This time, it correctly used the rate and the internet is working perfectly.... Until it's rebooted, then it reverts back to 1Mbps.

Is their a way to apply this command before network manager auto-connects at login?

Thanks in advance.

Apparently there is a regression problem with this driver in recent kernels. I found this thread in Linux Format forums:
http://www.linuxformat.co.uk/forums/...ic.php?p=80017. Maybe it will be useful to you.
