Max value for "net.core.rmem_max"

Does anyone know if there's a limit on the amount you can allocate for the sysctl setting, net.core.rmem_max? We currently have it set to 52428800, but are wondering whether or not the kernel will support more. We're using RHEL4, RH kernel 2.6.9-78.ELsmp, 16GB RAM.

thanks.

net.core.*_max is automagically configured by the kernel by looking at available RAM. I doubt the question should be if the kernel can support more (it prolly can) but what upping it does in terms of measurable system performance...
