I always use netconf (RH6.x) or neat (RH7.2) to configure IP settings. Sometimes when I
change them, they dont take immediately, even when I do a network restart. Is there a way
I can change the configs of my NIC manually? (IE a file to edit?)
Cool...I found the man page and have used IFconfig to bring the interface up and down....Is this the same thing that happens when I do a Network Restart?
Is Ifconfig the lowest level in which the interface can be addressed? (in other words...does it change something in a file I can edit with a text editor?)
