Hello all, I just discovered this board and I hope you can help me.
I installed Mandrake 8.0 and I have 2 ethernet (eth0 eth1) cards in the machine. During startup both of the cards fail to initialize. eth0 is set to DHCP (for my cable ISP, but I need to actually run a separate dhcp client to get it to work). If I go into X and then run the Mandrake network configuration tool, (draknet I think). I just view the settings and hit apply it appears to bring up the interfaces ok. After that I can run /etc/rc.d/init.d/network restart , and all the interfaces are brought up with the exception of the DHCP. Any ideas why they don't work on startup or untill I launch the config program? All help is appreciated. |
Go into the Mandrake Control Center and check under System, then Services. Make sure the network daemon is running on boot.

Thanks, that must have been the problem, however I'm still having trouble with the second interface, but at least its getting better. :D
