mailing list with 1000 users

Hi.... Just another problem...
We need to handle about 1000 customers so we have to implement a mailing list... In the past weeks we have tried the phplist.com. The phplist supports what we exactly need but we must reject it because it does not support correct the Greek Language.
I want you to propose me something alternative that is free with same funcionalities as the php list? Any idea?
Thx a lot
