Mail, POP, IMAP server !!

Mail, POP, IMAP server !!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hello All,

I am setting up a website on my home computer running fedora core-2 on a cable modem connection. I have already done some of the things but got stuck on few things i.e mail, imap, pop, smtp & squirrell mail etc., where your help will be highly appriciated. I have searched the web a lot and by now I am totally confused with so much of information. Here is the progress of my home website project :

1. Home Network is setup with private static ip connected to a linksys router
2. Port 25, 80, 110, 143 have been opened and forwared for smtp, http, imap
3. Apache webserver is configured on the fedora core-2 and runing fine.
4. domain has been registered and pointed to free zonedit dns server with a dynamic ip of my home ISP
- Eventhought the ip is dynamic but I haven't noticed any change since i got it

5. now when I connect to my website from anywhere it lands on my home computer

6. I have also adjusted /etc/hosts for the sendmail to send e-mail - mails can be sent from my home computer using my domain address e.g : abc@xyz.com
/usr/lib/sendmail -v helpneeded@yahoo.com - works fine no issues

Now the real problem starts
---------------------------
1. How do I receive the e-mail
2. I guess I will have to setup mail,imap, & pop server
3. I am not sure what I software I should be using and how.
4. how to configure squirrellmail as web mail address

I will really appriciate a step-by-step help for all the above to complete my home website project.

Thanks

This guide should get you thought the setup:

Also - make sure that you have an MX record for your domain and not just an A record in your DNS.
