Question lpstat: Unknown destination

lpstat always gives the message "Unknown destination" when trying to a given printer even though the printers are set up correctly on this RHEL3 box.

Some tests:

lpstat -a
lists all printers. The proof that they are here

lpstat -a Printername
Unknown destination

lpstat -o
shows all active jobs

lpstat -o Printername
Unknown destination

ping Printername
answers

Can anyone help me with this issue? what tests can I do in order to track down the problem?

Note: all printers are network printers, some connected via a printserver, in which case I'm pinging the printserver, not the printer

This is a known problem with cups on RHEL3. After upgrading to RHEL 4 the problem didn't happen any more.
