Angry lost the wireless

Yesterday I updated LM 17.1 (Rebecca) on my old (auxiliary) HP Pavilion 520n desktop using my in-home wireless.

Upon reboot today I am unable to reconnect with the wireless which is readily available to other computers I have.

I copied the properties and addresses in my primary machine's “Networks” to no avail.

I'm missing something and need a boost.

What wireless chipset is installed in the machine? (The command lspci should reveal that information.)

I would suspect that you are missing the WIFI module to drive your wireless setup from the new install.

Talking Solved

Thanks, all. I had already gone into the BIOS and reset to "default" and that solved it.

Haven't the foggiest as to why that should have done it, but it's all I can think of.
Another little annoyance- Since the update, in my top-located panel it is impossible to move my launchers to the left of the application tabs. Hints gratefully accepted.

Again, thanks for the help.

Hi...

I guess that was an easy solution.

If you would, please mark this thread as "SOLVED" by clicking on "Thread Tools" directly above your initial post. Thanks!

This is actually a separate issue which you should create another thread for.

Regards...
