Logon to a Windows network

Hi,

I am running Mandrake 10.0 and I have a VPN client that accesses my work. The VPN connects fine and I can see all the computers that are NOT on the <blah> domain via the Samba mount points dialog when I click "Search Servers"

But the problem is I need access to computers that are in the <blah> domain, but how to I log on to the domain so that I can see these computers. In windows, I would just go to Explorer and type \\machinename and I would be asked for the username/password which I would then enter \\domain\myname and my password. How does this work on Linux?

I really appreciate any help on this.

many thanks,

Barry
