Login issue Suse 9.1.

Hi All,

I don’t know exactly how to explain the problem. The situation is the following:
We have a server running Suse Linux 9.1, the users can log on the server however after a few minutes the process become dead. If I use the WHO command I don´t see any users but I type who –a, there are a lot of dead processes. The users log on the server with a telnet session, the server runs on run level 3. I don’t have much experience with Linux, so any help wil be welcome.

Thanx in advance.

Sounds like you have a network problem. Either your NIC card is dying or you have faulty cabling or a faulty port on the switch.
