Sorry to ask the stupid question about openldap .

I have two linux servers , they have openldap server and client installed , I would like these servers can act as the authentication server for other linux servers , can anyone point me to the document that have step-by-step instruction or any case study ? thx

Look in /usr/share/doc/samba3-<version>/ or /usr/share/doc/packages/samba

The Samba3byExample book might be in there. You may need to install a samba-docs package.
The book has some examples complete with configs for ldap and samba and PAM.
