Logging into a Novell server...
 
How do I get my Linux box to login to a Novell 5.1 server? I downloaded the client from Novell and that was a bust. Then I tried downloading another third party client that I read about on another Linux info site. Same result...

I am using Corel Linux v2...

Any help is appreciated...

From the 'help' tag in my 'menuconfig' (File Systems --> Network File Systems --> NCP file system support (to mount NetWare volumes)):

NCP (NetWare Core Protocol) is a protocol that runs over IPX and is used by Novell NetWare clients to talk to file servers. It is to IPX what NFS is to TCP/IP, if that helps. Saying Y here allows you to mount NetWare file server volumes and to access them just like any other Unix directory. For details, please read the file Documentation/filesystems/ncpfs.txt in the kernel source and the IPX-HOWTO from http://www.linuxdoc.org/docs.html#howto.
So make sure you have the correct kernel support and that you use the correct notation to log into the tree. I think Caldera still has some good documentation regarding Netware connections.

Also I believe that you need the CONFIG_NCP_FS even if the Novell server is using native IP instead of IPX. 'mount' needs some stuff from that part of the config. It's been almost five years since I've been on a Novell network.
