Load Balancing

hello...what app or setup would be best for load balancing?

The current setup is a load balance server (linux), which receives HTTP requests and then will distribute to the other two web servers running the websites (Apache). Would I run an application that even distributes HTTP requests to the two defined webservers or...? Appreciate any help...thanks...

Yes, sure. You can run two HTTP application as real server. That Service can provided by load balancer as well. Look at http://ultramonkey.org

Hi,

For software solutions, check Ultramonkey, LVS..

For hardware solutions, check Foundry Networks switches and load balancers, that of Cisco as well.

Also check the book "Wiley - Load Balancing Servers, Firewalls And Caches". You can get it on the internet as a pdf.

Regards,
Visham
