Linxu Script !


Hi My Linux Lovers
I have one small issue ! . i want to read a file from linux shell script . how to do that . i dont know how to read the value from test or any file from linux shell script

Pl help me to resolve the issue

if you mean that you want to read the contents of a file and use it onwards, then cat is the command you want.. It outputs directly to standard output the contents of the file.

Thanks for your replay . I know cat is the command tor read the contents in a file from linux script . but i dont know how read the file from linux script and howto give the value to linux script . sorry for again trouble u.

could you post an example script (for eg the one your working on) and what you want it to produce? Im having troubles understanding what your saying..

You want the script to read a file, and then transfer its contents to a variable? Or to just use then onwards in other commands?
