Linux, Samba, DAVE, Macs and PCs

I'm looking for a few suggestions on how I might go about setting up an efficient method for all the machines in my office to share files. Here's the basic setup:

Linux web server with Samba installed and configured
Macintosh 8.6 file server
about 10 Mac workstations
about 5 PC workstations

As it stands right now, the PCs can get into the Linux server fine but the Macs of course can't see it. What I'd like to be able to do is get all the Macs to be able to talk to the Linux server; whether or not they can talk to the PCs doesn't really matter.

My eventual goal is to set up a web-based file-browsing tool on the Linux server that will allow a user to view files on the Mac server and download them to a location from outside the office.

Any suggestions how I might go about doing this? Would I have to get something like DAVE working on the Mac server and then mount them as network drives to the Linux box? Would this have performance or instability consequences? Thanks.
