Linux NFS client <--> Leopard NFS server ACL support
Hello,
We're running MacOS Leopard Server as a Samba/AFS/NFS fileserver. We use ACLs to provide access rights for our users and groups.
On a shared directory with 'full control' access rights :
Windows (samba) clients and Mac (afs) clients can create, modify and delete files without any problems.
Linux (nfs) clients can create and delete files, but when they edit an existing file, they can't save it (no permission). They can, however, copy the file locally, edit it, delete the remote file, and copy the locally edited file back to the share.
All linux clients are Fedora 10, 11 or 12 with autofs. (they simply do: cd /net/macserver/path/to/share and bookmark this path in Nautilus). The clients have their UID, GID and names set identically to the ones on the server.
I tried doing :
$ cd /net/macserver/path/to/share
$ nfs4_getfacl <file on share>
and this gives:
Operation to request attribute not supported.
Any idea what's causing this?
Thanks,
Tim.
