Post Linux Networking


I want to mount a file system on my other linux box to the linux box i am on. I have a like 15 gigs of information on my linux server and i want to connect to it with the computer i use all the time (Both are redhat 9). I do have samba running on my server but would just like the mount the linux drive on my linux server to my linux box. I hope u can help.

Don't use samba, that's for Windows to Linux sharing. You need to use and setup NFS, Network File System. NFS is used to share directories and shares over a network between Linux or Unix machines.

Yes, that is what i was getting at, i need samba because i have other people in my house still uses windows and couble old windows machines my self that i have to share the files with so that is what i will use samba, yeah well what i was getting is i know to set is up with nfs but i am having a hard time setting it up. So if u could tell me how to set it up or point me where to find how to set it up. It would be great
