Question Linux Networking 101 question


I got a quick questions.....does my ip address to my interface 192.168.0.5 its a class B is also my web server (apache 2.0) or is it 127.0.0.1 that stated in the network config?

So if i am to foward ports on my router i can use 192.168.0.5 and it would get to the server?

Cybernet,

127.0.0.1 is loopback ip on every machine, 192.168.0.5 should be your eth0 (or 1, 2, 3 ...) ip. Try "ifconfig" to see if its up, then use it in your router ...
