There's some thread on the subject, but nothing gave me a straight answer!
I installed Mandrake 8.1 on an old IBM laptop, wanting it to become my DHCP + DNS + FIREWALL box on my home network... ok ok, you can laugh now, there's only 2 permanent client on this network ( WHAT ? a DNS for 2 box ?
) but then again, it was all part of an educational project on my own...
( i may be hard to decode, but i speak french most of the time, so i'm sorry for my bad en-glitch!)
Now, everything works fine, but when my WinXP box gets it's IP from my Linux DHCP, i get the following message :
Aug 8 01:31:51 webdb dhcpd: if IN A ultima.********.lan domain doesn't exist add 600 IN A ultima.********.lan 192.168.1.193 add 600 IN TXT ultima.********.lan "31e9804e381d924f2a981f1510deca1603": timed out.
...
Yeah, i know : i took it from the thread started by locutus233 on 2003-08-08, but it's the same message i get!
Anybody has an idea ?
- is the problem from the DHCP client on WinXP ?
- is there a misconfiguration on my RNDC settings ?
- maybe something i didn't think of...
Tanks in advance!
