Linux Client, Unix Mainframe

I'm telnetting to a Unix RISC box remotely. This box is used as our mainframe here at work. The Windows machines use an emulating software to connect to it (using Pick Turnkey Telnet as the server, and ADDS as the client). I have my Linux consoles setup to emulate vt100 as my port I'm using is setup for vt100 on the server. But occasionally the 'enter' key is entered twice or not at all, and some things don't properly line up. Is there something I can do in Linux to help with this? The emulation software in Windows has this problem until I change the server-type option to 'turnkey'. Is there somewhere in Linux where I can set this?

there are a lot of options other than vt100, you would need to try them I guess.

Have a look in your /etc/termcap file

you can use xterm with -tn

-tn name
This option specifies the name of the terminal
type to be set in the TERM environment variable.
This terminal type must exist in the termcap(5)
database and should have li# and co# entries.

there are also many other termcap files available if you have a small one

also look at man xterm
