linux can't resolve hostname from another linux box

I seem to be having a problem with name resolution on our internal network. We are using several dns servers for name resolution. We are primarily a windows shop (dns is running on a windows server), but we do have two linux machines that we use as internal web servers. My problem is that I can ping the host name of either linux machine from any windows machine and I can ping any windows machine from either of the linux machines, but I can't ping one of the linux machines from another linux machine. I can connect using the ip address, but not the hostname. I'm using Fedora Core 2 on both of the linux boxes. Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Can it resolve other dns addresses? Check that your dns configuration is correct in:
/etc/resolv.conf

It's resolving some dns entries. It's resolving the entries for windows machines, but not for other linux machines.

you may have to manually add the entries for the linux hosts on the Windows DNS Servers.

I can do that if I need to, but if they aren't registering properly then why can the windows clients resolve the name of the linux clients?
