Linux as a router

Hello friends,

i'm using fedora core 3 , i want to know can we make our linux system work as a router such that i can communicate with other routers in the network like cisco routers ?and if so those cisco routers will consider our system as a router ?

in short i want to know that an efficient communication can be established between our system and other routers?

Thank you all for any suggestions in advance.

Yup Linux can act as router. It can do all the job that your Cisco does. Howerver if you have too many users or too much load then it is better to use H/w based router like Cisco. If you want to setup router for Linux then see url http://www.cyberciti.biz/nixcraft/vi...-line-etc.html
