Linux & Windows98 in a "PEER TO PEER" 'NON-LOGIN' Network
I have been trying for weeks to figure out how to get Linux to use the same network as my Windows98 systems. I have read tons of stuff about SAMBA, SWAT, and much more. They all have one stumbling block ... they want DOMAIN & other similar info. My existing Windows98 network has nobody as SERVER nor is any of them relegated as WORKSTATION! They are all "PEER" to each other. Is there a way to do this or must somebody be MASTER? I started with a Caldera release ... after which I have just changed to Red Hat. They both leave me in the dust!!!
Anybody help? On the Windows98 systems I just select "Netwrork Neighborhood" and my systems are there and if they share resources ... they are there. What does one do in the Linux environment to get on this sharing way?

Domain is your workgroup name as per windoze.
The samba machine will appear as an NT server to windoze machines.
You need to configure samba, you should be able to use swat for this. There are loads of posts on the boards about this, do a search for swat, and most of your problems will already have been discussed.
