Linksyss WPC11 ver. 3 On Redhat 9.0
I have installed the linux-wlan module
configured the /etc/wlan/wlan-conf
configured the /etc/wlan/wlancfg-default
configured the /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts for static IP
Installed the WPC11 in redhat-network-config
When Trying to activated the card
I recieve an error message saying thay the card is not present
Hello,
I followed the involution.com solution. I can get an IP addy but I am having problems. First off, I am using red hat version 9. I assume there's no drastic configuration change. When I run "service network restart" everything is OK except for "determinating IP information." It fails.
I tried to ping my router. Over half the packets sent are lost.
Then I tried iwconfig. My bit rate is 2Mb/s. I am not sure what is going on. Can anyone help? I have a linksys wireless G AP.

I just installed redhat 9.0 on dell laptop with linksys wpc11 version 3
Redhat picked up the wpc11 automatically after i did the updates through a wired network
But how i solved my problem, by editing the wlan configuration file one line at a time, until a picked up my AP SSID and MAC address
then just used ipconfig to assign the ip address
