The approach that will work is to install cups on your linux distro. Access cups, using the web interface. Open a web browser, and enter
http://localhost:631 This will bring up the cups admin logon. Log as root, so you can add a printer. You need to know the name of the windoze server, and the printer name. You will also need to know the linux driver to support the printer. If you don't know, go to
www.linuxprinting.org and look up your printer in the data base. Armed with this information, add the printer. Once added, you should be able to print. Try test page as a test. That is about it...
