Linix distro to windows shared printer printing

arright, I am sorta doing the reverse thing here. I have two printers shared on Windows server. I want to see if I can print from a Linux desktop to either of the shared printers. I am using KDE and either Fedora Core 4 or Suse 10.1. Can you point me in the direction of some tutorials. I have tried to add a new printer through the KDE printer wizard but no success.

thanks,
machen

The approach that will work is to install cups on your linux distro. Access cups, using the web interface. Open a web browser, and enter http://localhost:631 This will bring up the cups admin logon. Log as root, so you can add a printer. You need to know the name of the windoze server, and the printer name. You will also need to know the linux driver to support the printer. If you don't know, go to www.linuxprinting.org and look up your printer in the data base. Armed with this information, add the printer. Once added, you should be able to print. Try test page as a test. That is about it...
