u need two kind of scripts one for upload one for download.
for example u have one box having 2 interfaces

1. ppp0 connected to internet
2. eth0 for lan

now u need a script on eth0 to limit download.
and need a script on ppp0 to limited all the upload and incoming traffic to ur machine.
for example u have written a script to limit bandwidth on eth0.now just copy the same script with different name and inside script replace eth0 with ppp0 .

the new script will limit ur upload traffic.

thanx for ur reply,
i think i've tested it before. i m giving u details . plz chek if anything is wrong with my classes.
intarface that is connected with internet is eth0
and eth1 is connected with LAN

/etc/sysconfig/cbq/cbq-100.test is made for controling download for ip 192.168.100.100

DEVICE=eth1,10Mbit,1Mbit
RATE=30Kbit
WEIGHT=3Kbit
PRIO=5
RULE=192.168.100.100

and /etc/sysconfig/cbq/cbq-100.testup is made for controling upload

DEVICE=eth0,10Mbit,1Mbit
RATE=10Kbit
WEIGHT=1Kbit
PRIO=5
RULE=192.168.100.100

i think ther is not anything wrong with my configuration. but still itz not working. is firewall an important factor for controling upload bandwidth ??
