limiting upload band with p2p apps
Hello everyone
i have 2 application that always run on my linux desktop, one is shareaza in wine emulation, and the other is linuxdc++
however while with shareaza i can limit the upload band to 20kb so that it won't disturb my browsing, with linuxdc++ is impossible.
Now, since i am running a webserver on my box, i wish that linuxdc++ didn't always eat all the available upload band so virtually putting my webserver offline, giving me problems in browsing, ping high as 1800msec, and continuous disconnection of gaim.
I am looking for something that could limit the upload band to a reasonable amount, let's say, 20Kb/sec, so that i can still use the pc while it is downloading.
I tried trickle, but it segfaults after 3 mins of use, seems it doesn't like too much linuxdc++.
How can i set up an easy bandwidth limitation for this nice but impossible to use program?
thanks
i forgot to add that i am currently running Ubuntu Feisty beta
