ldap failover

Hi,

I'm trying to set up openldap for failover so that if ldap1.xxx.xxx fails the client automatically uses ldap2.xxx.xxx.

Now, I've read that I can just specify both in the URI field of ldap.conf, and that both the servers can use the the same certificate. I wanted to know if its possible that the servers use different certificates issued by each server as the authority.

Is that possible, if yes then how?

Thanks
