Hi everyone, I have a weird problem.

I use a Presario V2000 and Ubuntu 9.04, with Wicd as my network manager. I use restricted drivers for my wireless card. Everything works fine, I can locate my WPA network and connect to it without any issues. However, when I reboot the computer, even though the network will still show up, Wicd won't connect to it, instead it will try to "authenticate password" and never connect UNLESS I change the broadcast channel of my router, or change the SSID name. Using the default network manager for Ubuntu 9.04 gives the same problem.

I know it's not a problem with my router, since I also have an iMac and another PC running Windows XP that works just fine everytime.

Any suggestions?

I just edit the interfaces file, as the GUIs often do not help.

Thank your the quick answer. I tried that, however I still get the same results: I can authenticate the WPA key just fine, but when I turn off or reboot the computer, it can no longer authenticate, unless I change the channel of the router or turn it on and off.

Any other suggestions?

The only other thing I can suggest, is that if you have "Network Manager" installed, uninstall it. Then check your interfaces file again.

wicd is OK, but NM unexpectedly does bad things to the interfaces file.
