Lan2Lanrouting
i got 2 networks here to be connected via a linux router (SuSE 7.2 Kernel 2.4.X
network A: network ip 10.22.xxx.0 subnet 255.255.255.0 network B: network ip213.149.xxx.32 subnet 255.255.255.248 (rented) both networks are Win2k or NT4-Servers the problem is i need to have a route to a specific computer (our remote access computer on net B) + masquerading the whole thing as net B is just connected to Inet via a gateway ... but that doesn't matter here - got it on easily when needed but even then just for net B and Linux a graphic of it could be like that |10.22.xxx.0| <----> |eth0- Linux -eth1| <----> |213.149.xxx.32| i tried several methods (ipchains, iptables) to get it to work but either i get the ping from net A to the eth1 interface (towards net A) but not further -> net B is unreachable..., just the same thing in different direction or the signal is lost between the interfaces... btw. i can ping each maschine out of linux besides ... SuSE seems to have a problem with its kernel-ip-tables, because it allways does not read the correct route.conf at startup so is there someone out there to help me'? |
i think your gonna need to post the routing table to get some help, I have an idea but its been a while since i've done any routing so i'm kinda rusty and couldn't explain it without seeing something to change.

Finished
ok thank you who readed the post and thank to the one(!) that at least did try to say something :-/
i got the prob solved as it has been just a prob for the right FW und Kernel 2.4.X after setting up SuSEfirewall2 (beta) everything worked fine .... the rest was just the normal load of configuring it and puzzling around in rc.config and firewall2.rc.config ... so well nice time for y'all i wish till next time Tobe |
