help please have some prblms
im new in linux

i cant connect to internet becouse i must to configure the lan i have a lan on board but i dont see in the hardware menu ...how to configure how to install the driver i havent

check with lspci (under root) what kind of onboard nic you have. Then add proper support in your kernel, build it, reinstall it, and it should work just fine!

The answer you got from "kremers78" is correct, however since you stated that you are new to Linux, I think the answer is not very good. To follow this recipie you neeed to more experienced.
Do you know how to use a command line in a shell?
What you can do (I don't know Mandrake very well, I used it in and around year 2000... Now I use Debian or a derivative thereof) is to open a shell, usually you'll find shell/xterm/root-terminal or something similar on the start menu. You need to issue the command "su" and give the root password.
Try the command "lshw > hw.txt", if not found install it via the usual installer in Mandriva. The lshw lists all detected hardware on the computer. If you do NOT find the card, you will have to look at nVidias homepage and find the exact model number. Then you may need to Google for a Linux driver. try "modprobe <driver name> first, otherwise you will need to download the driver from nVidias home page and install it according to instructions.
If this doesn't work, you could also try to boot the machine from other disros live-CDs. Knoppix and Ubuntu are usually my preference when it comes to detecting hardware, but thats my opinion, nothing more.
Another resource may be the Mandrive forums, at least I found them very useful when I was using Mandriva (or Mandrake as it was called then)

Well... it wasn't very good ... that's true..
but with the given question being so small, i can't do anything better than that..

If that works for YOU...Kudos to all. Otherwise it is worth it to purchase an in-exspensive NIC at www.outletpc.com or www.pcsurplusonline.com they both sell 3COM NIC Cards for less than $5.00. The Great part is Linux Distro's have the drivers included. IMHO it is worth while.
