lan chat

Hello,
I have a small local network (me and two of my neighbours). They both have no connection to the internet and use Microsoft Windows.
I'm looking for a free lan-only chatting program that would allow me to communicate over the local network with support for both linux and windows.

I haven't had any luck while looking for a free one on the net.
Does any of you people know what could I use for that?

Thanks.

Not sure if you mean chat as in speech, I use this for sending and receiving text messages on my LAN consisting of both Linux and Windows machines, on Windows it uses the text to speech function

http://www.quickpopup.com/

Unfortunately it's not free but is very good, tried free ones and they where very shaky to say the least

You can download for evaluation before you buy

Hope this helps

Pete

Many possibilitys.
If you have a machine you leave on all the time you could run an IRC server.

You could use trillian or the circle.
