KVM Bridging tap0 to Bonded adapters

I'm using KVM and I'm running into a bandwidth issue where we are saturating the bridged ethernet adapter.
The network is only 100mb with mtu of 1500
I want to bond two adapters (load balanced) then bridge the tap interface to that.

Has anyone tried this? It seams like a logical solution but all I get is an error saying "unable to bridge bond0 to bridge0, invalid parameter"

Help!

I went down this road. Short version is just to skip it. After a year I replaced the nics on both ends ($15 ea on ebay) with GigE and put in a GigE switch($45). The GigE solution is easily 5 times faster than the bonded solution without any of the headaches(and there were plenty).

Can't afford to switch to Gb

We have close to 200 stations. Some have Gb adapters most do not. The switches are all older 100mb high end managed switches.
I can't seem to bridge using a bonded adapter, but I'm going to try binding the bridged adapter....

Oy...

If they are managed switches, depending on how deep they go, the switches may be part of your problem. I forget the exact information but if they do more than act as a dumb switch, they may be preventing you from making a bonded connection. A lot of routers will do not have the capability of allowing bonded connections through them.

I have no problem bonding the adapters. My problem is when I try to bridge the tapX interface to them.
