Knoppix installed on hard drive cannot get nic to work
I have the gigabyte ga-k8nf-9 motherboard which uses the unusual nforce-4-4x chipset. The nvidia drivers cover the onboard nic no problem. However i cannot install them as you need the kernel source and kernel headers in order for it to install on any debian based system. I have kernel 2.6.11 on an i686 system. Normally this could be done on any distribution by using a network card that works no problem and using apt-get to get the source and the headers then install the driver and reboot. So i'd like to know if and where i can get the source and headers and burn them to cd and use the cd as an apt-get source so that i can install them. Or if possible get the drivers for my extra network card (Netgear FA311) in a .deb package.
but thats the problem the cd works with both my nics but once you install it to hd as a debian based system you can no longer use either one. Is it possible to install the drivers from the cd?
edit: i cannot find drivers for the fa311 online either
