Just installed Debian can't get ethernet to work

I just installed Debian and I can't seem to get the ethernet to work. I have a Netgear FA312 network card, which runs on a National Semiconductor ethernet chip. I can't seem to find an exact match for the driver module, I'm guess it is 8390, howeve I doubt it since it isn't working.

Looking at ifconfig, it only shows lo and sit0, no eth0. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. Please advise! thanks in advance!

BTW: I'm a total Linux newbie.. more detail is appreciated!

EDIT: When looking at /proc/pci I see:
Code:
Bus 0, device 12, function 0:
Ethernet controller: NS Unknown device (rev 0).
    Vender id=100b. Device id=20.
Medium devsel. Fast back-to-back capable. IRQ 11.
    Master Capable. Lat$ I/O at 0xc400 [0xc401].
    Non-prefetchable 32 bit memory at 0xe3005000 [0xe3005000].
If this helps any?

A quick Google search brought up the name of a driver called natsemi. So you can probably just type modprobe natsemi alias eth0 Then configure it using ifconfig or edit it using whatever config files Debian uses.
