Issue setting up a static public IP in kvm guests+virt-manager

Hi all
I have a virtualized environment both guests and host Centos 6.5. Now the host is set properly for port forwarding and bridging. Actually there are few guests already on the machine and worknig fine.

The thing is that it is the first time I am trying to config a guest with multiple interfaces: eth1:NAT eth0:bridged. eth0 needs neither receive an IP from libvirtd nor from the LAN it is connected. I would like the guest to be set with a public IP using the virt-manager and static ifcfg-eth0 file.

Now when I try to add interfaces in the guest and configure them to connect to the host br0, it goes fine but a reboot of the server and ifconfig does not yeild any interfaces. I try to create the related ifcfg-eth0 under the network-scripts with correct parameters but it is not being picked. Note that NetworkManager is not present in the minimal installation to cause issues. I submit a dhclient which shows interfaces but then nothing still holds the data I configured!!!

I must be missing something here, please help

before you go to far
double check that 6.5
Code:
cat /etc/redhat-release
CentOS 6.5 is NOT SUPPORTED
it is END OF LIFE

only 6.6 is supported

if it is 6.5
you are missing a YEARS!!! WORTH of security updates as CRITICAL SECURITY FIXES !!!

upgrade to 6.6 ASAP

then worry about the ip address
