Issue pertaining to network configuration on RHEL
Hi,
I am experiencing a issue in starting up Open view monitoring on couple of linux servers and here is the output from mii-tool looks like.
eth0: 100 Mbit, full duplex, link ok
eth1: 100 Mbit, full duplex, link ok
eth2: no link
eth3: no autonegotiation, 100baseTx-HD, link ok
eth4: no link
And, the NIC cards cabling is as follows.
NIC1 onboard – goes to monitoring
NIC2 onboard – goes to network switch1
External NIC port – goes to network switch2
Second external NIC port is not cabled
Based on what I understand, eth0 goes to monitoring and the other 2 ethernet cards go to FE.
I am not an expert in system administration but would like to know if there is any issues with the above settings/configuration (in fact, im also looking for what do they infer and what is the ideal settings? Any light on what changes (if any) need to be made would be greatly appreciated.
