is this possible????


hi

i want to know if i can connect two computers directly with the ethernet cable. i have to two computers with ethernet cards. i also have a cable. now if i connect the computers via the cable and configure the ip addresses will the computers exchange information.

i have already done it but it didnt seem to work.

Yes but you need a crossover ethernet cable to connect two PCs together. And yes you can exchange information via any number of methods: samba, nfs, ftp, scp etc.

thanks. i was using a straight cable. it totally slipped my mind. i wil use a cross cable.
