Is routing that difficult?!

Hi all,
I am a newbie so please be gentle.
Basically I have a redhat 9.0 box and want to use it as a firewall/router.
It has 2 NICs, eth0 for my internet connection, using DHCP, and eth1 for my LAN.
Now having read some stuff about this my problem is how can I set up a route from eth1 to eth0 (I think this is what I want to do) if I don't know the IP address of eth0, because it is assigned by my ISP via DHCP.

DHCP (ISP)

it can be as easy as you want it to be really. i use a gtk based progam called firestarter which sets up both firewalling about ip forwarding in one step.
