Is possible? link-up between 100 Halt and 100 Full?

Dear Sir.

Switch 1(cisco catalist 3740G)
Setting
Speed : 100
duplex : full

Switch 2(My own product)
Setting
Speed : 100
duplex : half

I'm expect that not running link-up, between switch1 and switch 2
because not match "duplex".

But This machine have a "link-up" led.

Is is possible?

Thank you.

The switch and nic should automatically negotiate the connection and work correctly, usually at the "lowest" compatible level, in this case 100/half.

It's been a long time. I think that under some conditions it can work as half on one side and full on the other. It really slows stuff down as I recall.

For some reason some of the cisco switches are a bit touchy and you may have to assign it correctly instead of trying to let auto set it. Could still be an issue with cables or interference or computer.
