Is it possible to do Multiple PPP (WvDial) connections ?
Hi guys,
I use a dial-up modem (HUAWEI ETS-2056) to connect to the Internet using WvDial (which uses pppd). It is working fine.
But, I would like to just ask you guys here, if it is possible to connect another (same) modem, in hope to double the bandwidth ?
I mean, I add another Modem, then I connect both modem. If it is possible, what measure should I take, to make my bandwidth double in speed ? configurations, ppp links, ...
OK, now, things have changed. The situation (real) is like this:
I have two accounts on my ISP (same), and I just want to get them connected at once, to see if I get a better Internet speed.
I have managed to get the two modem connected at the same time already, and they appear as interface ppp0 (first one) and ppp1 (second one).
But it seems, that only the first modem (on ppp0) is being used, and the second remains idle.
I've heard about routing, but I don't know how to do it. Any tips ?
NOTE: it is now a matter of multiple uplinks, to get going at the same time, not ppp anymore.
I may need to use several dial-up modems to get online. Have you been successful at this? Dial-up sux, but maybe two together won't be so bad. If I could squeeze out a 100kb connection, I'd be happier than a pig in slop! Please advise
Hi did how did you connect two modems in linux. Which dialer did you use?
Kindly help

Never pursued this, had to turn off the extra phone lines and sell the extra modem. But if/when somebody tells us how to do this,I'd still like to know.
