IP tables problem !

I have the following problem.

We have a computer called X in a private network witch is running a smtp mail server. We also have a computer called Y witch is the gateway that has an interface to the private network and another interface to the internet. Write firewall rules for Y witch will allow the smtp server from the X machine to be visible on the Internet only for IP adresses from a certain group.
(the ip group doesn't matter, can be imaginary, but valid).
