is there any IP Scaneer for windows that can scan LAN & show Ip Address, os version, user logged in, shares for Linux Host? Can Angry IP scanner do that?

for finding shares you can use shareenum from sysinternal http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/s...rnals/bb897442 or legion and to find the OS you can use nmap for that (but it will only be a guess, not a fact) But after all it depend what you want to do? If you are a sys admin and you own the network I would use OCS Inventory instead of all these tools... But if you are doing some pen test, then have a look at http://www.securityfocus.com and https://www.sans.org/security-resources/ This will give you a good starting point. Best regards, Angel. |

I use Angry IP scanner on my Linux laptop. It works fine.
I don't see where the windows comment comes from. OCS Inventory is at http://www.ocsinventory-ng.org/en/ |

nmap has ran on windows for years and has been able to scan 127.0.0.1
( there was the week after microsoft KILLED it on windows before a patch was added ) |
Try nmap with scripts.
Example: nmap 192.168.1.0/24 -sV --script=smb-enum-shares.nse rtfm :) |
Rwho can provide a list of logged in users.
