IP-forwarding

Hi,
I'm setting up a ppp server and after reading the HOWTO found that I must compile my kernel with IP-forwarding turned on. I'm running RedHat 7.3 and am using both the kde control module's Linux kernel configurator and xconfig. As I can't find IP-forwarding anywhere, can anyone tell me where to find it so I can turn it on? javascript:smilie('')

Edit /etc/sysctl.conf and change 'net.ipv4.ip_forward' from '0' to '1'. Afterwards, run '/etc/rc.d/init.d/network restart' to refresh the new configuration information.

You can see if you are running with Ip forwarding enabled with this: 'cat /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_forward'. If it's '1', it's on, if it's '0', it's off.

Bentz,

Thanks for your help. It worked (of course)! I was under the impression that I had to re-compile my kernel with a special IP-forwarding switch turned on. Once again, thanks for your help.
