Internet sharing problem
Ok ... here is my problem ...
i'm a newbie in linux .... and i want to make a proxy server for my network to share the internet connection .... cable modem internet connection .... k ... i have a switch and a ethernet adapter .... the adapter is recognized by fedora core 3 .... so ... i make the ip , gateway & sub settings .... i make the dns settings ... and it still doesn't work when i save the settings & run the internet config utility & the network device controller it tells me to restart .... i reboot & the computer gets stuck at sendmail or somethin ... so ... how the hell am i going to make the proxy server or at least my computer browse the internet ??? as i heard squid is the best proxy server .... some useful step by step instructions on how to install it ? |
